PRO STOCK  (4 Wheel Modified)

( There will be some trucks Grand Fathered in to this class that raced in 4-wheel modified in 2009 & before.)

(If we have a National Event The Grand Fathered trucks would have to be moved to a higher class to participate.)

(If we have a National Event Pro Stock will be ran with Un-Cut DOTS.)

GENERAL

This class is for highly modified stock appearing four wheel drive race vehicles. Altered frames, race bodies and high performance race engines allowed.

BODY

1) Any style jeep or truck body allowed - must be recognizable - No excessive cutting of the body. Fenders and roof must be retained if originally equipped. No narrowing of body permitted. 
2) Body must extend to and cover all front engine components
3) A firewall and floorpan must be present protecting driver from engine and driveline components. 
Minimum of 16 ga. Steel or .060 (.120 recommended) aluminum required. The firewall will extend from door to door and from the floor pan to the base of the windshield. The floor pan will extend from door to door and front of the cab or tub to to rear of the cab or tub. (NOTE the floor pan and firewall shall be securely attached to each other and to the frame work of the chassis).
4) Center seat acceptable, must be located no more then 84" from the center of the front axle to the bottom of the seat back.
5) Windshield not required.

DRIVE TRAIN

1) Main frame rails can be constructed from a minimum of 2x3 rectangular tubing and must be a minimum of .080 wall thickness. No round tubing or ladder style frames allowed. Round tube can be used for additional bracing. The main frame is considered from front axle tube centerline to rear axle tube centerline.
2) Minimum 8 point roll cage required
3) Any type suspension allowed
4) Any style OEM or aftermarket chain or gear drive transfer set ups allowed
5) Dual independent master cylinder brake system required
6) Four independent wheel brakes required
7) Maximum 46.5” DOT tires Cut or Uncut.
8) 3000 lbs big block, 2700 lbs small block
9) Maximum wheelbase 130”

ENGINE

1) Any automotive type engine acceptable
2) Engine must be located with # 1 spark plug no more than 12” behind the center of the front axle tube
3) Big block aluminum engine blocks not permitted.  Small block aluminum blocks are allowed.
4) Any type of cylinder head and intake manifold allowed
5) Maximum of 4 barrels of carburetion (split and stretched Dominators allowed, single Predator only)
6) Vacuum pumps and dry sump allowed
7) Pump or Racing Gasoline only, No Alcohol, Additives or Nitrous

Vehicles must meet all safety requirements.

OPEN PADDLES

(If we have a National Event Open will be running DOT Cuts.)

GENERAL

This class is intended for highly modified 4 wheel drive vehicles allowing tube chassis, any engine location and aluminum engine blocks. These vehicles need not resemble any factory produced vehicle.

BODY

1) A body is required. It can be constructed from metal, fiberglass or plastic and can be any design
2) A firewall and floorpan must be present protecting driver from engine and driveline components

DRIVETRAIN

1) Chassis material, design and workmanship must meet safety requirements and tech approval
2) Rear engine vehicles roll cage must provide adequate protection to driver legs
3) Any type suspension allowed
4)
Paddle tires or maximum 46.5” DOT tires with alterations (Cuts) allowed
5) Vera Trac and similar tires are acceptable on front
6)
Minimum weight with driver and power adders 2450 big block, 2150 small block. Minimum weight with driver and no power adders 2150 big block, 1850 small block. 
7) Dual independent master cylinder brake system required
8) Four independent wheel brakes required
9) Maximum wheelbase 150”

ENGINE

1) Any automotive type engine acceptable (aluminum blocks allowed)
2) Multiple carbs, Injection and Nitrous allowed (no blowers or turbos)
3) Gas or Alcohol only, no nitro methane or similar fuel accelerators
4) Any safely constructed competition exhaust allowed

5) Blower restraints and belt shield required. Blower and hat blanket and fuel line shield highly recommended

CONSISTENCY CLASS


1) Any vehicle that enters into and competes in an Southeast Texas Mud Motor-Plex class may compete in the Consistency Class.
     If the class that you fit into is not offered at a particular race, you may enter the Consistency Class. However, if your class is available, you must run your class to be eligible.

2) After two runs, the difference between the two times is your consistency score.
IE: truck 1 runs a 2.500 and a 3.500 his score is 1.000
      truck 2 runs a 6.805 and a 7.312 his score is 0.507 and is the winner.

3) All general and class safety rules apply as written for your class rules.

Economy 4&6 Cylinder Pit

 

BODY

1) Body must remain manufacturer recognizable.

2) Maximum wheel base 150".

3) Must have a firewall between driver and motor.

4) Gutting of bed allowed, bed skins ok.

5) Interior gutting allowed.

6) Race seats allowed.

CHASSIS

1) Any OEM or OEM replacement frame. Must retain two (2) stock cross members (unused brackets and cross members may be removed at the discretion of the builder)

2) Any suspension allowed.

3) Front and rear differentials, transmission and transfer case can be upgraded. No final drives or Unimog axles. (Any OEM or Aftermaket Enclosed Transfer Case allowed)

4) Trans brakes allowed.

5) Maximum 36" unaltered DOT tires only.

 

ENGINE

1) Engine must be same type for truck.

2) Any carburetor or OEM aftermarket injection system allowed.

3) Naturally aspirated only.

4) Open Headers are allowed, NO upright headers allowed.

5) Must have firewall between engine and driver.

6) NO Nitrous, blowers or turbo permitted (unless OEM equipment)

Vehicles must meet all safety requirements.

40.0  Renegade Limited Pit

GENERAL

This class is intended for trucks and Jeeps that have been highly modified for competition. Although these vehicles can be gutted, they must appear stock and must utilize a full factory frame in their chassis. Engine with cubic inch limit, frame, body combination allowed.

BODY

1) Stock steel body or OEM equivalent fiberglass body required (no race bodies)

2) Gutting of body is allowed. Must retain stock appearance from exterior

3) Front tires have to be Fifty percent in stock fender wells

4) Firewall and floor pan can be cut and relocated

5) Flatbeds must meet tech approval

6) Windshield glass not required

7) Headlights and taillights not required

8) Interior can be gutted

9) Driver seat can be located in the center of the vehicle, but cannot be moved toward the rear

10) Bumpers not required

 

CHASSIS

 

1) Full uncut factory frame from front differential to rear differential (must retain 2 stock-width cross members)

2) Minimum 6 point roll cage

3) Maximum distance from center of front axle to seat back 84”

4) Any suspension (3 link, 4 link, coil overs) allowed, no backhalves

5) Any stock type front and rear differentials allowed. Axles can be upgraded. No final drives or Unimog axles.

6) Any style OEM or aftermarket chain or gear drive transfer set ups allowed

7) Fuel cell, radiator and battery may be relocated

8) Transmission modifications and trans brakes allowed (must be shielded)

9) 4 wheel brakes, dual master cylinder required

10) Maximum 40'0” unaltered DOT tires

11) 3150 lbs big block, 2850 lbs small block

2) Engine must be located with # 1 spark plug no more than 12 inches behind the center of the front axle tube

3) No aluminum engine blocks

4) OEM fuel injection only

5) Any type of cylinder head and intake manifold allowed

6) Maximum of 4 barrels of carburetion (split and stretched Dominators allowed, single Predator only)

7) Vacuum pumps and dry sumps allowed

8) Nitrous, turbos, and superchargers are not permitted (factory installed OEM turbos permitted on diesels).

Vehicles must meet all safety requirements.

Tractor Tire Pit

1.   No Passengers

7.   Must have a kill switch at drivers reach and at rear left drivers side of the vehicle

8.   Must have 4 tractor tires on vehicle, 50 inch Min.

9.   Must have transmission blanket

10. Must have 2 drive shaft loops on each front and rear shaft.

GENERAL REGULATIONS


The event will be run by classes . Contestants will be paired for the first round at the drivers meeting and informed if that class will be run as Single Doubles ( 6 or more entry's ) or Full Doubles ( 5 or less entry's ) . Subsequent rounds will be determined at the end of each class. Driver or representative of each crew is responsible for checking class sheets for next round.
Lane choice will be determined by a drawing prior to each race and every round .
Entire class will be informed when their class is up next and the order they will run. Contestants will be called in pairs to the staging area. If you are interrupting the overall timing of the event you could be disqualified for that run.

If a contestant encounters mechanical trouble, they must inform the officials before his opponent has proceeded to the staging area to be moved back the end of class.
In the event there is more than one violation during a pass , the violation that occurs first wll be disqualified for that round .
If during a race neither vehicle crosses the finish line under its own power , that race will be reran at a later time .
The parade run is to establish ruts and is not mandatory, idle speed will be maintained from start up to shutdown, on track and in pit area.

Idle speed will be maintained in pit area at all times.
A driver will be disqualified for recklessness or dangerous behavior.
There will be no alcohol beverages or drugs of any kind in the pits or staging area. Consumption of either by a registered driver or co-driver will result in immediate disqualification. Any driver or crew member incapacitated due to an intoxicating agent will be escorted from the pit area and could result in ejection from the event .
Use of profanity or threats by any contestant or member of their crew will result in that vehicle and or driver being disqualified & banned from the track and loss of all money and points
Mud racing is a growing sport. As officials, we cannot be expected to have infinite foresight therefore, be advised that just because a specific item is not covered by a written rule that it may be considered either legal or illegal. Track officials will have the final word on all new items to come along

The rules and or regulations set forth are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the conditions of all events. And by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations They are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participants, spectator or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of these specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications.
Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.


SAFETY IMPORTANCE
Mud racing, since the first organized event, has been predicated largely on safety. Methods of operation, facilities, construction and competition practice are regularly reviewed and updated where necessary to help the sport safe conduct. Procedures in general are subject to constant change due to the sports progressive evolutionary pattern. Total responsibility for everyone however, must share mud racing’s safety associated with the sport. Close observance of the standards set forth in this rulebook is an important fundamental.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

Vehicles must operate in a safe manner at all times. You can be disqualified for operating any vehicle in an unsafe manor or showing poor sportsmanship.

All vehicles must pass a safety inspection.

No loose items in bed or cab of vehicle.

Each wheel will have all lug nuts & tight, no hubcaps or beauty rings.

Battery must be secured, and not in the drivers compartment.

No loose parts on vehicle, I.E. fenders, bumpers, lights ECT.

Suspension, steering & brakes must be in good working order & safe.

Fuel system & tank must be secured, with fuel caps and in safe condition.

All vehicles must have a neutral safety switch or a driver in the seat while the motor is running, all solenoid shifters must have relays.

Drivers and co-drivers in all classes must wear seat belts and helmets.

All vehicles above STOCK must have roll cage with at least 5-point restraints. Threaded pipefittings or lap weld pipe is not allowed (round tube only)

Any ballast must be secured, No liquid or loose ballast.

Flame retardant suit required in all classes above STOCK.

No more than two people in vehicle during race.

A fire shield or wall must separate occupants from engine compartment.

Fire extinguisher required in all classes. (approved and working)

All vehicles must have brakes on wheels capable of locking and in good working order.

Once a vehicle is in the staging area, only driver & co-driver allowed in vehicle.

If vehicle makes it through pits, both must remain in vehicle and return to pit area.

Vehicle must stop immediately upon signal from official.

Contestant can only drive one vehicle in each class. Each driver & co-driver must be registered.

These updated rules supercede & prevail over all previous rules written or “unwritten”; drivers will be informed of any changes or additions to these rules at the drivers meeting.
